1. Open your image in Photoshop.
   
   
2. Drag and Drop an overlay over your image from your files section. You can also create a Photoshop Library in Creative Cloud (Window > Library) and upload all elements. 
   
   
3. This will appear as a solid layer with a black background.
   
   
4. Change the blend mode to SCREEN on your layers panel. This will make the black background disappear and the glowing elements come to life over your image. 
   
   
5. Play with layering up the overlays, masking areas and trying different combinations until you have the image you dream of. 
   
   
6. You can also add color change and contrast by going to Image > Adjustments and choose various effects such as: Hue/Saturation > Colorize to change tone, or levels/curves to change contrast. 
   
   
7. Add a layer mask [o] to paint away areas of the overlay, such as edges of the bokeh layers.

As the digital backgrounds are digital files, once you download you own them and they are "unreturnable".

If you accidently purchased the same Digital Background twice, we can replace for another product.

Overlays are image files you can add "over" your image in Photoshop using various blend mode options on your layers panel to blend and adapt the overlay to your image. 

The recommend blend mode for our overlay layers is:

FINE ART TEXTURES: Overlay or Soft Light

LIGHT/GLOW/SPARKLE OVERLAYS: Screen

OVERLAYS ON WHITE: Multiply

TRANSPARENT BACKGROUND OVERLAYS: Normal

Absolutely! Though our overlays have been designed to the highest professional standards and are indeed used by the pros, beginners find these are super user-friendly. 

So you can dive in and get started right away, wherever you are in your photography journey.
