FAQ - LIGHTROOM PRESETS

What are Lightroom Presets?

Unlike Plug-ins, Extensions or other External Image Editing Softwares, Lightroom Presets are already a built-in feature of LR.


If you are not using Presets to help speed up and streamline your editing, you're missing out on a huge trick. 


Lightroom comes with the capability to 'save' specific develop settings as a Preset. You can then apply this preset every time you wish to recreate these steps on a new image. Neat! 


LSP Lightroom Presets take this not just one step further, but in leaps and bounds to make sure you never have a bad editing day again. The LSP presets are designed to be mixed 'n matched together for infinite possibilities. The specific blends and mixes of settings use mean you can find the perfect look for you image in just a few clicks.


You can also hop over and make tweaks and changed yourself as you go for a double-whammy of editing awesomeness.


Once you install your LSP Presets into Lightroom, they will always be there for you whenever you wish to use them.

Can I use these in my version of Lightroom?

The LSP LR Presets and Brushes are designed for use in Adobe Lightroom CS4 - Classic Creative Cloud in English for best, most complete results. If you are not sure if your version of Lightroom is compatible, please email me for support at hello@lsp-actions.com and I'll try to get back to you within 24-48 hours.


Adobe Lightroom CS4 - CS6

✓ PRESETS:  You can use all LSP Presets in Lightroom CS4 - CS6

✓ BRUSHES: You can use all LSP LR Brushes in Lightroom CS4 - CS6


(recommended)

Lightroom Classic Creative Cloud

✓ PRESETS: You can use all LSP Presets in your Classic CC subscription

✓ BRUSHES: You can use all LSP LR Brushes in your Classic CC subscription


Lightroom CC 

✓ PRESETS: You can use all LSP Presets in Lightroom CC

✖ Brushes: You cannot use the LSP Brushes in Lightroom CC


You will need to open Lightroom Classic to use the brushes as CC does not have the save brush option included. But this is cool, you will have both programs in your Creative Cloud subscription anyway so go ahead and open up classic  😁


Lightroom Mobile

✓ PRESETS: You can use all LSP Presets in Lightroom Mobile

✖ Brushes: You cannot use the LSP Brushes in Lightroom Mobile


You will need to open Lightroom on the computer (as above) to use the brushes as the Mobile App does not have the save brush option included.

I'm a beginner, are these hard to use?

The LSP Presets can be used by beginners and experts alike - but it is recommended you have a basic understanding of Lightroom and know your way around the basics of the develop panel to give you the best head start.

Beginners find they can create professional images far quicker by using the presets than by muddling through trying to figure out the look they should be going for! 


The brushes allow you to take Lightroom Editing to the next level, many find they don't even need to use Photoshop once they have the LSP Presets and Brushes


You can also learn from the presets and settings as you go, meaning you will become more proficient at hand editing too!

How do I install Lightroom Presets?

How do I install and use Brushes in Lightroom?

You can use the brushes in Lightroom CS4 - CS6 and also in Lightroom Classic CC - click here


You cannot use pre-saved brushes in Lightroom CC or Mobile yet as the programs don't allow for it.


I can't find or see the brushes in Lightroom! Where are they?

1. Make sure you have installed your brushes correctly (check out this video on installing Lightroom Brushes in Lightroom Classic). 


2. They need to be added as individual files to the local adjustment presets folder, they will not work if you drag the folder in.


3. Restart Lightroom between installing and using.


4. Click on the brush icon option to open up the Lightroom Brush palette. Click the dropdown to see the various LSP brushes and select which one to use


#TIP - lower the flow of the brush in Lightroom, this way you can build the effect up gradually and naturally rather than going in heavy.



How can I access my downloads?

When you make a purchase at LSP Actions, you will immediately receive a download link at checkout upon payment.


You will also receive an email confirmation email plus a download link to retrieve your digital products whenever you like. This email will be sent to the email address you used to purchase with. 


If you can't see an email from me, please run a search of your inbox for "LSP Actions": this should bring up your order email and download link (plus any previous purchases or updates). So long as this is the email address you purchased with, you should have no problem locating your download this way.


You can also login to your account and download your files at anytime. Don't have an account? You can create an account and this will automatically add any downloads plus future updates - just be sure to register with the same email address you used to purchase with.



"I tried all that, but I still can't get my download" Occasionally, there can be an issue that prevents you receiving emails relating to your order or seeing your downloads in your account. Sometimes something simple, such as a typo in the original purchase email address, or your email provider filtering or blocking messages from LSP Actions. It could also be the fact you purchased with a different email address and can't remember which one. 


Occasionally, you might be able to see the download, but access to the link may be broken or invalid. Rare but it can happen! 


If you can't find your download via your inbox or your account, don't worry. Please contact me at hello@lsp-actions.com with as much information as possible about your order so I can locate and resend for you. 


I aim to reply within 24 hours, but please be aware that due to holidays or family commitments this can be a little longer sometimes.



My Presets have been updated, do I get it for free and where do I find the updated file?

When a LSP Actions product gets upgraded to the next level but stays the same product, I work hard to make sure every customer who owns the set receives the updated version via email as well as to their account.


1. DOWNLOADS AND UPDATES VIA EMAIL: Updated product emails will automatically go out to the original email address you purchased with. If you can't see an email from me, please run a search of your inbox for "LSP Actions": this should bring up your original order email, original download email and any updated product emails since your purchase.  So long as this is the email address you purchased with, you should have no problem locating your download or updated file this way.
